The Highwayman

The Highwayman Trail Marathon is a narative trail race (there are no marshals or arrows, you follow written instructions) following a route around the villages of Thaxted, Great Sampford and Hempstead all assosiated with the early years of the life of Dick Turpin. The route is 95% off road on a wide variety of terrain. For your safety you will be expected to run with a mobile of the same number that you have left with registration.

The race starts and finishes at The Thaxted Church Hall. There will be 5 well stocked checkpoints at approximately 6.5mls, 9mls, 17mls, 20mls and 23mls. This is a cupless event, there will be no cups at any of the checkpoints. When you reach the finish you will receive a well earned medal and hot food.
