Fire Cider Making & Herbal Tea Making
Saturday Sept 6th 2:00 Central Time
This is a Dual-Topic Hands-On Herbal Medicine Making Workshop!
Prepare to get your hands dirty & herbs under your finger nails!
We'll be rolling up our sleeves and getting hands-on with the art of Fire Cider making!
When we hear Fire Cider we typically think that this is something to take and use during times when cold, flu or other illness is going around. An immunity tonic of sorts. Well, you're not wrong here!
However, did you know that Fire Ciders can also be used for inflammation, heart support, respiratory, digestive support?
This is a perfect opportunity to learn natural remedies and to enhance overall well-being through herbs.
"Ah, Fire Cider. That tangy, spicy, zesty apple cider-based remedy that comes in as many flavors and colors as there are herbalists, Fire Cider is another wonderful example of ‘food as medicine.’ Cider vinegar may be among the most ubiquitous health items found in the world. Inexpensive, easily made, easy to store, long lasting, versatile, and tasty, it’s the poor man’s liquid gold. Travel the four corners, the nooks and crannies, the circles and spirals of the world–wherever apples grow, you will find all manner of cider vinegar recipes and remedies still in popular use today" -Rosemary Gladstar
Here you will be learning about the medicinal properties of several different herbs that cover a wide range of issues as some mentioned above. If you're a note-taker like me I do encourage you to bring something to take notes in! Print Outs will also be available.
There will be a wide variety of organic fresh & dried herbs, root veggies, spices, fruits, spicy things and more available for you to incorporate into your personal fire cider blend.
Attendees will be making a jar of fire cider to take home. All ingredients and materials provided.
For the 2nd half of the workshop:
Herbal Teas for this & that!
With the information and knowledge that you've gained you will be making 3 herbal teas of your choice to take home to enjoy. These herbs will all be available to you during the workshop so that you can customize your blends tailored to your specific needs.
Maybe you are wanting a tea on-hand for the chilly days ahead, or perhaps a tea to soothe & calm the soul. You'll be learning which herbs are for what and tea blending basics.
Items to bring:
*mug for drinking tea/water
*A sharp knife to cut/chop with
*pen to write with, something to take notes in
*sharpie pen to label your items
Herbal Tea and light refreshment will be available for you to nibble on and of course something sweet! Some of you have asked if you could bring something to share with the group. This is not mandatory however, please keep in mind finger food type items.
I am excited to be teaching on this particular topic which is greatly inspired by a few of my favorite herbalists. I look forward to seeing each of you soon and especially looking forward to watching you create your custom-tailored creations!
Our workshops are perfect for anyone new to the herbal arena.
