You’re Invited to “Be the Light” – on August 23rd, 2025.
The Together We Can CHQ Coalition is proud to host the second annual Be the Light: Anyone Can Save a Life event on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 6PM–8PM at Point Gratiot Park in Dunkirk, NY.
Held in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day, this free, family-friendly event honors lives lost to overdose, celebrates recovery, and brings our community together in hope, healing, and connection.
Highlights include:
💜 Live music, snacks, and kid-friendly activities
💜 Keynote speakers sharing stories of resilience and recovery
💜 Resource fair with local services/agencies
💜 Purple glow visual at dusk to honor/remember those lost to accidental overdose
💜 Recognition of Chautauqua County EMS
💜 Announcement of a new EMS Scholarship for local students
💜 Education on the NYS Good Samaritan Law
💜 Harm reduction education and supplies
💜 Ask questions and sign up for future CPR training
