The McGregor Stonelifting Games will be in attendance at the 2nd Bruce Festival in Dunfermline and we are excited about being invited .
The event had 18.000 spectators last year and are hoping for 20.000 this year .
The event celebrates Scottish history through reenactment of historical events and to have Stonelifting included is an honour.
We will be running small 5 male / 5 female comp demonstrations throughout both days with a mixture of novice and opens competitors to show the public just what is possible.
The athletes have been hand picked by myself ( i gave first dibs to those who have shown support for the games as well as my stone tours and us in general ), and the 4 events are as follows
1. stone to shoulder reps
male Nov 85kg Opens 124kg
female Nov 55kg Opens 75kg
2. walking stones
men 125kg 90kg women 84kg 66kg or 66k 55k
3. Husafell max
men 140kg women 90kg
4 . Mark Sherriffs stones of strength tackyless atlas stones
This is a fun exhibition of competition so the weights aren't massive . there will be a small trophy for winner of each category and Cerberus Strength have kindly provided one tee per athlete and sox also
Athletes arrive for 9.15 please
as for the public event starts at 10.30 and we start at 10.45 with breaks in between
