Archaeology on Ice: Fieldwork at the Historic Ross Sea Huts 2024-25

Speaker: Jeremy Moyle

Abstract: Frozen in time, the Antarctic explorer huts in the Ross Sea are today cared for by the Antarctic Heritage Trust. Last summer season Jeremy was privileged enough to join the Trust's team heading south to assist with that year's conservation programme. This talk discusses the archaeological work that was undertaken as well as the general process and character of managing a heritage site in one of the world's most extreme environments.
