Taoka Puoro with Dr Jennifer Cattermole

We are delighted to have Dr Jennifer Cattermole returning with her popular taoka puoro talk for Matariki!

Jennifer will demonstrate how to play a variety of traditional Māori musical instruments, and discuss their whakapapa, uses, and meanings. You'll also be shown how to play instruments crafted from things found in the natural environment.

One of Aotearoa's leading ethnomusicologists, Jennifer is a maker, educator, and experienced player of taoka puoro. Music fans young and old will love this fascinating Matariki talk.
