PAMdemonium – Free Screening

As part of Bislama Language Week, join us at Tūhura for a screening of PAMdemonium: The Secret of the Reconstruction.

On the night of 13 March 2015, Vanuatu was struck by the most intense cyclone it had ever experienced, a Category 5 storm that affected over half its population.

Sandrine Charruyer, a Franco-Australian filmmaker deeply connected to Vanuatu, recruited a filmmaking team to cover Cyclone Pam's disastrous impact on the community, and the extraordinary resilience of its people.

Over three separate filmmaking trips to Vanuatu, the team followed the lives of survivors at the heart of the destruction, conducting intimate interviews with people from all walks of life as they joined forces to get their country back on its feet.
