Free Food Giveaway - Vesak Full Moon Poya 2025

In the spirit of Vesak Poya and Sri Lankan tradition, Yaka Dunedin is giving back to our community with a free Fried Rice Dansala!

Dansala is a charitable food offering organized during Vesak Poya, a major Buddhist festival that commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Lord Buddha. Rooted in the spirit of generosity (dāna), Dansalas are set up by individuals or communities to serve free food, drinks, or other refreshments to the public, regardless of religion or background.

Join us as we celebrate compassion, kindness, and generosity by sharing a warm meal with you — no strings attached.
