Forests for Climate - Free public talk

You're invited to a free public talk 'Forests for Climate', hosted by the Dunedin branch of Forest & Bird.

Dean Baigent-Mercer has campaigned on many issues here and overseas over decades from the logging of native forests, overfishing, toxic mining and climate change.

Behind the scenes Forest & Bird has been going in to battle for farmers to receive carbon and biodiversity credits for the native habitats they care for.

Today Dean is Forest & Bird’s Northland representative and has been working on large scale native forest restoration and carbon issues.

Dean will be down in our neck of the woods to talk about the collapse of native forests, the impact of introduced deer, goats, possums and wallabies on carbon within native forests, what problems need solutions and what is possible now.

There will be time following the talk for questions and discussion with Dean, and others from the branch.
