BOOK LAUNCH // Celebrate Otago’s engineering heritage: Take Me With You 3 by Karen Wrigglesworth

The University Book Shop, together with the New Zealand International Science Festival and Karen & Freyja Wrigglesworth warmly invite you the launch of Karen's third book:

Take Me With You 3

You don’t need to be an expert to appreciate Otago’s engineering heritage.

It’s a project that grew from the simple belief that technical stories don’t need to be complicated – and can even be fun. Written in an engaging, storytelling voice with ‘engineer’s eye’ photos by the author, these books really do encourage you to take them with you and explore engineering stories hidden in plain sight in the landscape. Find out how things work, who built them and why, and quirky details that make many features ‘innovative’. Inspiration for many great days out for all ages.

Books will be available for purchase and Karen will be signing copies on the night. Light refreshments provided.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Karen Wrigglesworth is an award-winning author, engineer and technical storyteller from Whanganui. Her first book, Take Me With You!, was completed during a Robert Lord Cottage residency in 2019-2020. It won an Outstanding Contribution to Heritage Award at the Whanganui Regional Heritage Awards and was Highly Commended at Engineering NZ’s Heritage Awards. Karen’s second book about Dunedin's engineering heritage, Take Me With You Too!, was published in 2022. Take Me With You 3! received a Charles Fleming Publishing Award from the Royal Society Te Apārangi.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR
The book’s cover art is by Karen’s daughter, Freyja Wrigglesworth, a final-year student at Dunedin Art School.
