“Professor Halim Rane is a leading Australian scholar of Islam, internationally recognised for his contributions to understanding Islam-West relations, inter-religious coexistence, and Muslim lived experiences in the contemporary world. His research, teaching, and community engagement have shaped scholarly and public discourse on Islam in relation to security, human rights, and global justice.

Professor Rane’s interdisciplinary research explores the intersection of religion, politics, and international affairs, with a focus on Islam and Muslims in both historical and contemporary contexts. His work employs qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, including discourse analysis, interviews, surveys, and ethnography. He has authored over 80 scholarly publications, including eight books and is also the co-author of the forthcoming book "Covenants with Allah: Keystone of Islam.”

Everyone is welcome to join us for this 22nd Annual Peace Lecture which will also feature a conversation with Professor Rane and to hear a response to his lecture from members of a Jewish, Christian and Muslim panel.

There will be an opportunity for questions. Everyone is warmly invited to attend this very special event and to enjoy fellowship together over refreshments at (nearby) Selwyn College.
