Celebrate Independence Day by kayaking one of the oldest rivers in the USA, the mighty Susquehanna!

July 4th: Meet at Haldeman Island, just minutes from Harrisburg. (If using GPS, try entering the Ranch House Restaurant. The entrance to Haldeman Island is across the street.)
Everyone will hop in the comfortable air conditioned van and head up-river to Fort Halifax where you will get brief basic instruction and then launch. This is a self-guided paddle. We will tell you what to look for. There are no dams, rapids or other hazards. It is all class-one, easy and beautiful.

Fort Halifax to Haldeman Island 3 hours 6 miles

Rental of a solo kayak is $60.

Shuttle of your personal kayak is $25.

Wear water shoes, athletic sandals or old sneakers (not crocks or flip-flops.)

There are portable toilets at Fort Halifax Park.

Cell Phone and/or Watch
