This immersive workshop gives nurses a practical, confidence-building foundation in pressure redistribution using a full range of clinical materials and techniques. Together, with your educator Chrystal, we’ll explore felt, foam, gels, silicone, strapping, pre-fabricated devices, and custom offloading options—with every supply provided.
You’ll learn how pressure, shear, tissue stress, and foot structure guide your material choices, and you’ll get plenty of hands-on time to experiment, build, apply, and troubleshoot different offloading methods. We’ll cover when to use each medium, how to shape and secure padding for maximum durability, and how to think creatively while staying clinically safe.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll walk away feeling clear on:
The principles of pressure redistribution and how they apply in real cases
How to select between felts, foams, gels, and silicone
How to build custom offloading pads tailored to your client’s needs
How to apply strapping and securement techniques that actually stay put
When to use over-the-counter vs. custom solutions
How to confidently start using these techniques in your nursing practice
You’ll leave equipped, inspired, and ready to bring creative, effective offloading into your clinical work immediately.
