Come learn how to light a fire when everything is wet out!
You will learn how to create fire from scratch using only materials you gather in the forest. We’ll share tips on fire safety, fire structures, and the principles behind fire—from its initial spark to the process of tending it down.
By the end of this workshop, you'll feel more confident lighting a fire wherever you are, with whatever is available to you.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how to start a fire with modern tools such as farro rod, matches, and lighters.
We will demo friction fire with a bow drill to light our central fire, please note, the focus of this workshop won’t be on bow drill techniques. If you're particularly interested in mastering that, consider joining our weekend-long workshop, where you’ll learn to make your own bowdrill kit.
