Cost: Class is Free in association with Solway Firth Partnership and funded by Marine Fund Scotland
In this fun, practical session you’ll be guided through the complete process of making your own resin coasters using reclaimed marine plastic. You will learn how to create simple moulds using silicone-sealant, safely mix two-part epoxy resin and how successfully pour your resin. You’ll embed small
pieces of marine plastic, creating a terrazzo effect and making a unique finished piece.
As resin requires time to cure, the coasters and moulds will need approximately 24 hours to set. Participants will therefore be invited to return later in the week to collect their creations. If returning is not possible, coasters can be carefully packaged and posted for an additional cost of £5 payable to the tutor.
This workshop is part of Gather, organised by the Solway Firth Partnership with funding from Marine Fund Scotland, celebrating the volunteers who help keep our coastline clean and cared for.
