Striving to be the World’s Okayest Mom
Speaker: Lisa Grinde
We welcome Lisa Grinde to the She Unites stage at the Innovation Lab on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:30 P.M.
From Lisa:
Join me at this SheUnites gathering as I share thoughts on one of my favorite—and most complex and intimate—topics: the messy beauty of motherhood. As a parent of two teenagers and as a developmental psychologist, I’ll offer both personal stories and research-backed insights to support a shift in how we view motherhood: less about perfection and performance, and more about presence and connection. Through relatable experiences that may provoke both laughter and tears (often simultaneously), we’ll explore the importance of creating space for ourselves and our kids to make mistakes, feel big emotions, and grow independently. Being the “okayest” mom isn’t about lowering the bar—it’s about letting go of guilt and unrealistic expectations we have for ourselves and for other moms, and showing up with love, honesty, forgiveness, and grace, again and again.
All are welcome. All are worthy. All belong.
