Want to grow potatoes but don’t think you have the space, or just don’t want to break your back digging them up? Then Convivium’s Potato Tower Workshop is for you!
Join Farm Manager, AJ, for this interactive workshop where you’ll learn all about potatoes, how to grow them, and some alternative growing methods. This class will provide an opportunity for hands-on experience as you will have the option to assist with building potato towers from start to finish, please dress accordingly.
If you are interested in taking home a kit to build YOUR OWN potato tower, they are available for purchase through this registration. Kits are $30 each and include the cage, posts, and irrigation for one 3 ft. tall and 2 ft. wide cylindrical potato tower. (Soil, straw, and potatoes are NOT included in kit).
Kits must be ordered by March 29 and will be handed out at the end of the workshop.
Instructor and Farm Manager, AJ Shultz, tends our neighborhood gardens. From building healthy soil to harvesting over 5,000 pounds of produce each season, AJ’s enthusiasm for growing and enjoying fresh food is the backbone of our operation. When not in the field, AJ also teaches gardening and composting classes and serves as our garden tour guide.
Trust us – you don’t want to miss an opportunity to experience our gardens with him. AJ has been involved in edible and sustainable landscaping and urban gardening most of his adult life. His training and professional background includes working with organic farms and edible landscape organizations in Santa Cruz, California; Huelo, Hawaii; and Margaret River, Australia.
