The Legend of Kohinoor is a grand adventure told in English — a story woven through history, mystery, and the journey of the world’s most famous diamond.
As part of our mission to celebrate and showcase South Asian arts, this production features:
• Hindustani & Carnatic music
• Kathak, Kuchipudi, folk, and contemporary dances
• Original storytelling with powerful performances
This is a labor of love by our all-volunteer cast and crew consisting of Bay Area's best theater and performing arts talent!

About Katha Munch
Katha Munch Inc is a registered East Bay based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to cultural storytelling and reflection through theater and digital media. Over the past few years, we have built a vibrant community of 300+ artists, creating productions that bring South Asian culture to life in fun, entertaining, and thought-provoking ways. Our work resonates strongly with both first-generation immigrants and their next generation, bridging cultures and celebrating authenticity.

Cultural Storytelling: We’ve staged 5 major productions including a teen-led production, blending tradition with contemporary narratives.
Youth Empowerment: Our Teens & Juniors division (katha Munch teens -

Social Storytelling: Just last month, we launched our first digital content series, broadening our reach and impact.
Community & Wellbeing: For many of our artists, Katha Munch is a creative sanctuary—an outlet that helps reduce stress and supports mental health.
