What started out as a quaint festival berthed the summer of 2018 in The Historic Stubbs Park, has grown into the annual festival that celebrates and gives reverence to freedom for all.
And we’re back in living color to present to you Dublin’s 6th Annual Taste of Juneteenth Festival!
If you didn't know, Juneteenth is the best-known and one of the oldest American holidays that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States; it commemorates the date June 19, 1865, when the last African American slaves held in Confederate states were freed and has been observed since June 19, 1866.
We are inviting all of YOU to come out & celebrate OUR Independence Day right here in our hometown, Dublin, Ga. There will be a marketplace of B.o.Bs represented as vendors, along with some "EduTainment" coming from the stage.
In times, such as these, it is imperative that we come together & celebrate that which is ours: Our History!
Here we are some 400+ years later still striving for reparations, human rights, and equality. These are the continued goals we seek as a People through this Juneteenth celebration, right here in the heart of Middle Ga. Come out and commemorate yourself, our communities, our youth as well as our ancestors.
Happy Independence Day!
