If you’re into quality sparkling wine but don’t know about Franciacorta, this tasting is for you. If you know, you know.
Franciacorta in the Lombardy region of Italy produces high quality sparkling wines in the traditional Champagne method, but often gets overshadowed because of Prosecco which isn’t anywhere near the same other than the bubbles. Franciacorta has very strict production regulations with longer aging requirements than Champagne.
We’re honored to bring one of the best producers to you when we welcome Francesca Bonfadini of Bonfadini on Friday, October 10th. The family winery began with her grandfather, Giovanni, growing grapes in 1956 and then her father, Graziano, continuing to sell fruit to local producers. Francesca joined the family business in 2007 and took the lead to build an estate winery to produce their own wines. These have been favorites with some of our customers because Bonfadini offers good value in the category.
The tasting will be 6-8pm, taste at your own pace, for $25. Pouring will begin at 6pm and end at 8pm so please give yourself enough time to taste through the wines. You can pay that evening, but if you plan to attend, we'd appreciate your RSVP so we have an estimate. We'll have our snacks menu, you can order from Ray Ray’s Hog Pit or JT's Pizza & Pub, or we encourage you visit one of our neighboring restaurants before or after the tasting. Thanks to Dave from Bottle to Glass for supporting this special event at Aardvark!
