Salalah is famous for its spectacular microclimate in the summer. In direct translation from arabic, Khareef means an autumn, however in fact it is a drizzle, fog that turns area into a tropical paradise with verdant landscapes, mist shrouded mountains, gurgling streams and flowing wadis. Monsoon typically arrives in mid June, by the time we travel greenery should be in bloom, temperature around 25C and you ll have a serious trouble to believe that you are still in the Middle East.
We have compiled the most unique Salalah spots into the weekend trip in a way that each and every one is very different from another to make you wow! and crave to stay there for longer.
Dhofar mountains are spectacular on its own with the high cliffs of 800-1500 mtrs, massive wadis and the geological limestone faults called Sinkholes. We will be travelling from one point to the other in rented 4WDs and stay in the hotel (double sharing).
The flight schedule accommodates the whole weekend, with departure at 15.50 hrs on Friday and return on Sunday, 20.40 hrs.
We are also including unique opportunity to see Khareef in Yemen, as Option on DAY 01.
Friday - Departure

Saturday - Western Dhofar
Wadi Affar

This area resembles the shores of Ireland or New Zealand: high cliffs blasted by ocean waves. We will trek along the shore and if weather allows we will climb to the peak for the stunning views of surrounding bays.
and some more....
However you can also choose a visit in Yemen city of Hawf (full DAY 01).
Sunday - exploration of Eastern Dhofar
Taiq Sinkhole & Cave - This impressive geological formation is in fact a fault in a limestone plateau. We will explore the wadi alike area and reach the spacious cave. Its also the thir biggest sinkhole of its kind in the world. Some more on sinkholes theory here.
