Cost will be $25/shooter.
There will be 3 different classifications in this Match depending on the shooter’s choice of firearm.
One will be for Service Rifle Shooters. These firearms include Enfields, M1 Garands, Mausers, Mosin Nagants, SKSs, etc. Basically any Military Service Rifle (centre fire) that is Korean War and earlier vintage. No optics are allowed. Military style forends that have been shortened are acceptable. Glass bedding will be allowed, as are after market peep sights, such as the Lyman 48 or 57 models. A 5 lb trigger pull minimum is imposed. All firearms with detachable magazines will be limited to a 5-round capacity, with the exception of the M1 Garand (an 8-round Enbloc clip).
The Second will be for Hunting/Sporting Rifle Shooters. These are any centre fire firearms of any action or design, with or without optics. Firearms with detachable magazines will be limited to 5 rounds loaded. Otherwise, the maximum magazine capacity is 10 rounds loaded.
The Third will be for .22 Rimfire Rifle Shooters. These firearms include any .22 Rimfire Rifle of any action or design, with or without optics. Firearms with detachable magazines will be limited to 5 rounds loaded. Otherwise, the maximum magazine capacity is 10 rounds loaded.
Center Rifle Targets are placed at 100 yards and are Standard Rifle Targets with 7-inch diameter black rings. .22 Rimfire Rifle Targets (modified rifle target) are placed at 50 yards and they have 4-inch diameter black rings.
A Match is comprised of two Rounds (rds) of 5 Relays. Each Round would be a minimum of a 50 shots fired.
The time allowed is one minute per each shot fired (10 minutes per each Relay).
Relays are:
10 rds Prone
10 rds Sitting
10 rds Kneeling
10 rds Standing
10 rds Min. Balloon Bust Standing
The Balloon Bust is a timed standing match at 30 seconds for semi automatic actions and 45 seconds for all other actions. A balloon is given to each shooter to blow up and a string is tied to the balloon. This balloon on a string is stapled below the target (the same target used during your Standing Relay). No shots are to be fired at this target until the balloon is broken first. When the shooters are on the firing line at the ready, the Range Officer blows the whistle and starts the clock. Now, all shooters start firing at the balloon on their target. When a shooter pops their balloon, he/she uses the rest of the time to put rds in the standing target. There is no limit to the number of shots that can be fired. So, if you are fast enough, 15 or more rds can be fired.
All targets are then scored. The shooter with the highest score wins the match in their respective classification.
No bipods or other supports are are allowed. Slings are permitted,
though. Ammunition can be hand loads, sporting, or ball. Shooting equipment should include a shooting mat or carpet, a kneeling roll, spotting scope or binoculars, ear and eye protection, a shooting box for your ammo, a cleaning kit and a stapler for targets.
As a reminder, we shoot two Rounds per Match. One is before lunch and one after lunch. So, bring a minimum of 50 rounds for each Round (100 for each Match).
More is better.
Lunch is included in the Match fee. We have been ordering two topping (of your choice) personal pizzas for lunch for each participant.
