Kollektive Räume als Notwendigkeit für Kreativität und Innovation.
Zum vierten Mal lädt der Dresdner Verein Metaknoten e.V. zur DIWO-Week ein – dem Workshop-Festival, das den kollaborativen Gedanken des Do It With Others (DIWO) in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Vom 12.05.2025 bis 17.05.2025 verwandelt sich die Veränderbar in der Dresdner Neustadt in einen temporären Makerspace, in dem (Medien-)Künstler*innen, Medienmacher*innen und DIY-Enthusiast*innen zusammenkommen.
Das übergeordnete Thema in diesem Jahr: „Kollektive Räume als Notwendigkeit für Kreativität und Innovation“. Unsere Gäste, Vortragenden und Workshopleitenden sind Vertreter*innen verschiedener europäischer Kulturkollektive, u.a. aus Barcelona, Zürich und Ljubljana.
Es finden täglich Workshops statt, in denen wir Dinge bauen: Von Jan Willem Hagenbeek`s (Ginkosynthese, NL) „Little Synth – small circuits and big waves“ zu Schaltkreisen für experimentelle Klangforschung mit Robert Martinez (Mutan Labs, ES), „Sonic Resonance – feedback and frequencies“ und Miranda Moss (Bitwäscherei, CH) „Raw Synths – electronic rocks and feral circuits“. Als besonderes Highlight entwarf der slowenische Künstler Dominik Mahnič den „Penzlograf – a portable DIY plotter“ eigens für die diesjährige DIWO Week.
Anschließend geben Vorträge und Talks Einblicke in das künstlerische und handwerkliche Schaffen der geladenen Kollektive. Wir sprechen über Gentrifizierung, Selbstverwaltung und die Bedeutung den kollektiv organisierte Räume für Kreativität, Produktivität und Wissensvermittlung haben. Als besonderen Programmpunkt veranstalten wir am Montag, 12.05., die Podiumsdiskussion „Konstant Temporär Prekär“ und diskutieren mit ausgewählten Initiativen und Vereinen aus Dresden, u.a. Hanse 3 e.V. und Zentralwerk e.V., über die letzten 20 Jahre sozio-kultureller Räume in der Stadt und wagen einen Blick in die Zukunft.
Zum Abschluss der Werkwoche gibt es am Samstag, den 17.05.25 eine Werkschau der entstandenen Arbeiten und Projekte und im Anschluss Konzerte von MUNKA:WEBER | TRAS | Transist/Or.
Die DIWO-Week bietet als Plattform eine einzigartige Gelegenheit für den Austausch zwischen unterschiedlichsten Akteur*innen der europäischen DIY-Szene, die sonst selten in dieser Form zusammentreffen. Hier entstehen neue Ideen, Projekte und Netzwerke – direkt vor Ort, greifbar und nachhaltig.
Die DIWO-Week wird gefördert durch das Amt für Kultur und Denkmalschutz Dresden und den Stadtbezirksbeirat Neustadt.

Collective spaces as a necessity for creativity and innovation.
For the fourth time, the Dresden association Metaknoten e.V. invites you to DIWO Week - the workshop festival that focuses on the collaborative idea of Do It With Others (DIWO). From 12.05.2025 to 17.05.2025, the Veränderbar in Dresden's Neustadt district will be transformed into a temporary makerspace where (media) artists, media makers and DIY enthusiasts will come together.
This year's overarching theme: “Collective spaces as a necessity for creativity and innovation”. Our guests, speakers and workshop leaders are representatives of various European cultural collectives, including from Barcelona, Zurich and Ljubljana.
There will be daily workshops in which we build things: From Jan Willem Hagenbeek`s (Ginkosynthese, NL) “Little Synth - small circuits and big waves” to circuits for experimental sound research with Robert Martinez (Mutan Labs, ES), “Sonic Resonance - feedback and frequencies” and Miranda Moss (Bitwäscherei, CH) “Raw Synths - electronic rocks and feral circuits”. As a special highlight, Slovenian artist Dominik Mahnič designed the “Penzlograf - a portable DIY plotter” especially for this year's DIWO Week.
Afterwards, lectures and talks will provide insights into the artistic and artisanal work of the invited collectives. We will talk about gentrification, self-management and the importance of collectively organized spaces for creativity, productivity and knowledge transfer. On Monday, May 12, we will host the panel discussion “Konstant Temporär Prekär” and discuss the last 20 years of socio-cultural spaces in the city with selected initiatives and associations from Dresden, including Hanse 3 e.V. and Zentralwerk e.V., and venture a look into the future.
At the end of the work week on Saturday, 17.05.25 there will be an exhibition of the works and projects created, followed by concerts by
MUNKA:WEBER | TRAS | Transist/Or.
As a platform, DIWO Week offers a unique opportunity for exchange between the most diverse players in the European DIY scene, who otherwise rarely come together in this form. New ideas, projects and networks are created here - directly on site, tangible and sustainable.
Participation: Open to everyone aged 18 and over, no prior knowledge required
