The Listening Room at The Village Chapel with Willard Gayheart and Scott Freeman
Join us for a unique musical experience in The Listening Room at the Village Chapel — a space designed for stillness, sound, and soul. Housed in a beautifully preserved chapel with natural wood and plaster acoustics, the room offers an intimate setting to sit, listen, and truly enjoy live music.
Willard Gayheart is a beloved Appalachian musician known for his heartfelt folk, pencil art and bluegrass storytelling. With decades of experience, his rich acoustic sound preserves the spirit of the mountains. He will be performing with his son-in-law, mandolinist Scott Freeman, bringing traditional mountain music to life through warm harmonies and timeless melodies. Together, they’ve become a treasured duo in the Blue Ridge music scene.
The show runs two hours with an intermission. After the concert, we’ll be offering Willard’s renowned pencil artwork for sale—detailed illustrations that capture the same Appalachian soul as his music.
