About this Event

Join The Doylestown Bookshop’s Summer Workshop Series as we host various authors who will present a variety of topics for upcoming, newly published, or seasoned writers.

This workshop requires tickets. There are multiple options, listed below. The ticket options that include books offer excellent value, as the authors will personally sign the books, and additional books purchased at The Doylestown Bookshop during the evening of the workshop.

Crafting Immersive Historical Fiction

Historical fiction authors Jenni L. Walsh and Lee Kelly will share their research tips and tricks, essentials for building fresh stories from history, and tangible ways to immerse readers in this 90-minute event, which will be part lecture, part workshop, and lots of fun.

About Our Guests:

Lee Kelly is the author of City of Savages, a Publishers Weekly "Best of Spring 2015" pick and a VOYA Magazine "Perfect Ten" selection; A Criminal Magic, which was optioned and developed for a television series by Warner Bros.; The Antiquity Affair, co-written with Jennifer Thorne; and With Regrets. Her short fiction and essays have appeared in Gingerbread House, Orca, and Tor.com, among other publications, and she holds her MFA degree from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

An entertainment lawyer by trade, Lee has practiced law in Los Angeles and New York. She currently lives with her husband and two children in New Jersey, where you'll find them engaged in one adventure or another. Jenni L. Walsh worked for a decade enticing readers as an award-winning advertising copywriter before becoming an author. Her passion lies in transporting readers to another world, be it in historical or contemporary settings. She is a proud graduate of Villanova University, and lives in the Philadelphia suburbs with her husband, daughter, son, and various pets.
