History of Downers Grove Township
Come join us at the Downers Grove Public Library to explore the places and people who actually made the history of the Township. Founded in 1839, by 1873, DuPage County was divided into nine Townships. Downers Grove Township was and still is the largest with boundaries from County Line Road to Woodward Avenue and 39th Street to the Illinois & Michigan Canal. An area that started with four major settlements, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills and Fullersburg, now includes nine Villages. Each one of these Villages has a story of its own. Whether you're a local history buff or just curious about the past, this event is sure to offer something for everyone. You don't want to miss it!
Admission is free, but advanced registration is required.
