Kid’s Art Workshop: Painting Terra Cotta Pots

Aug 15 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Ages 6 to 13

Danielle Festa will be instructing a 90-minute workshop on designing and painting terracotta flower pots, ready to be filled with soil and seeds for planting. Using vibrant acrylic paints and guided inspiration, each child will create a one-of-a-kind pot, sealed with acrylic spray, ready to take home, perfect for growing flowers or herbs.

This class is designed to be supportive and accessible for all children, regardless of artistic experience. We encourage imaginative expression and provide a calm, welcoming space where each child can explore color, shape, and personal creativity at their own pace. Kids will be invited to wear smocks. Caretakers are free to stick around or run an errand!

About the instructor:

Danielle has been teaching art to both children and adults in individual and small group settings for over 20 years. She enjoys sharing the lessons she learned from her talented professors at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and at Lorenzo de' Medici University in Florence, Italy.As the founder of Aplomb, she brings a trauma-informed approach to every class, creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for creative exploration. Her teaching style is rooted in empathy, active listening, and adaptability, recognizing that every participant arrives with a unique set of experiences. Danielle integrates grounding techniques and gentle encouragement to help students build confidence, reconnect with their inner voice, and experience the healing power of the creative process. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, Danielle meets you where you are and encourages growth through patience, play, and self-compassion.
