Who is Rumpl and what's the R.A.D. program?
Based in Portland, Oregon, Rumpl makes Blankets for Everywhere. Utilizing material technologies commonly found in activewear and outdoor gear, Rumpl aims to modernize the everyday blanket.
The Rumpl Artist Division (R.A.D.) is a collaborative program that showcases the work of accomplished and upcoming artists who use diverse mediums to inspire creativity in impassioned communities around the world.
What is Protect the Porkies?
Protect the Porkies is a volunteer-led, Michigan-based campaign founded by Tom Grotewohl to oppose the proposed Copperwood Mine, a metallic sulfide mine near Michigan's Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and Lake Superior. The campaign has successfully mobilized public pressure, leading to a stalled $50 million taxpayer grant from the Michigan Senate for the project.
They are fighting for the permanent protection of the Porcupine Mountains and Lake Superior from potential environmental damage from the mine, which is planned by Canadian company Highland Copper.
