The City of Dothan is pleased to announce a formal ribbon cutting ceremony for the Dothan Opera House, marking the completion of its highly anticipated addition and restoration project. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dothan Opera House, 115 N. Saint Andrews St, Dothan, AL.
Members of the public are invited to attend this special occasion celebrating the preservation and enhancement of one of Dothan’s most treasured historic landmarks. Following the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Opera House, view the newly constructed addition, and experience firsthand the significant upgrades made to the original facility.
The improvements include expanded backstage facilities, enhanced accessibility, modernized lighting and sound systems, and architectural restorations that honor the building’s original 1915 design.
“The Dothan Opera House has long stood as the foundation of our civic and cultural heritage,” said Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba. “This renovation ensures it will continue to serve our community as a premier venue for the arts and public gatherings for generations to come.”
The City of Dothan extends its gratitude to the many individuals and organizations who contributed to the success of this project. The ribbon cutting ceremony represents not only the culmination of extensive planning and construction, but also the continued investment in the vitality of Dothan’s downtown district.
