Jordan Lake wasn’t just a friend — he was a core part of our store and our community. We spent countless hours and late nights talking about his ideas for what could make the shop special. About eight months ago, we began talking about opening a store in Dickson City, and seeing his excitement as it all came together was unforgettable. Honestly, so much of what we’ve built wouldn’t have been possible without him.
Just this past Saturday at our Chaos Draft, I had foolishly forgotten to bring the land stations we ordered — basically an essential for any Magic draft. As I started to panic, Jordan didn’t hesitate for a second. He pulled out literally every deck he owned and began tearing them apart on the spot. Of course, Jordan being Jordan, he didn’t have any plain old basic lands. Instead, he started laying down galaxy foils, full-art lands, and even Un-lands. When I told him there was a good chance many of them wouldn’t be returned and asked if he was sure, his classic response was: “Oh well, they can be replaced.” In under four minutes, he had torn apart five decks just to keep the event running. That was Jordan — always ready to step in, always ready to make things work, and never sweating the small stuff.
To honor Jordan’s memory and support his family in this difficult time, we’re hosting (what will be a) Yearly Jordan Lake Box Tournament on Saturday, September 13th at 5:00 PM.
💙 All proceeds will go directly to Jordan’s family.
📦 The shop will cover the cost of the boxes and prizing.
🍪 Alongside the tournament, we’ll have giveaways, a bake sale, and other community efforts to help raise as much as we can.
Please consider sharing this event and joining us as we celebrate Jordan’s life, his impact on our community, and the passion he brought to everything he touched.
We hope to see you on 9/13 @ Final Boss Dickson City 5PM
