U.S. Marine Corps Ceremony Honoring the late Louis Charles Joseph

Louis Joseph, one of US Montford Point Marines and uncle to our Board Member, Peggy Farmer, will be honored along with his unit with a special Congressional Medal. A little history - The Montford Point Marins were the first African American Marines, trained at the segregated Montford Point Cap in Jacksonville, North Carolina between 1942 and 1949. Despite facing adversity, Montford Point Marines served with distinction in World WarII including seizure of Okinawa.
