With great pride and heartfelt anticipation, AFMC Drama Club welcomes you to the inaugural edition of Triage of Tales 1.0—a national-level theatrical initiative bringing together the creativity, emotions, and storytelling spirit of medical students.
Though founded only two years ago, the AFMC Drama Club has grown into a passionate platform for theatrical expression, driven by the belief that medicine and art are not separate, but deeply intertwined. Triage of Tales 1.0 stands as our first step onto the national stage, an effort to create space where stories of struggle, hope, healing, and humanity come alive through drama.
The word "triage"—borrowed from the language of emergency medicine—beautifully parallels the art of theatre. Just as triage prioritizes the most urgent human needs, Triage of Tales brings to light the most urgent stories that demand to be told—stories that are raw, reflective, and real.
This event is not only a landmark for AFMC Drama Club, but a pioneering move in the inter-medical cultural landscape, encouraging dialogue, empathy, and connection among future healthcare professionals through the lens of performance art.
We believe every tale told here will echo far beyond the stage—reminding us that behind every stethoscope lies a story, and behind every white coat, a beating heart with a voice worth hearing.

Our event:
1.Scene and Script: The On-Stage Writing Challenge
A featured event of the 2nd National AFMC Carnival, Cultural, Art and Photography Fest – 2025, this creative showdown invites participants to craft original scripts based on a given theme or prompt. It is a platform to showcase imagination, storytelling skill, and theatrical expression through the written word.
Are you ready to test the limits of your creativity? This thrilling competition invites you to create an original script inspired by an unexpected visual prompt. With only a brief look at an image, scene, or description, you’ll have just 15 minutes to transform that inspiration into a captivating story. No teams, no extensions—just you, your imagination, and the clock. It’s the ultimate challenge for any storyteller who thrives on spontaneity!

Rules for Scene & Script: The On-the-Spot Writing Challenge
1. Participant Eligibility:
The challenge is open to individual participants or a team of two members.
Each participant must register prior to the event to confirm their spot.
2. Event Format: Each participant will be shown a visual prompt on the projector. The prompt may be:
A scene from a TV drama, movie, or play.
An image of a person, setting, or situation.
A brief description of a situation or character.
Based on the visual or textual prompt, participants must write a short script within the allotted time.
3. Time Limit:
Participants will be given 15 minutes to write their script based on the provided prompt.
No extensions will be granted, and any submissions after the time limit will not be accepted.
4. Script Requirements:
The script must be written in standard script format, including character names, dialogue, and stage directions (if applicable).
Each script must have a clear narrative structure (beginning, middle, and end).
While participants are free to interpret the prompt creatively, the script should be directly inspired by or connected to the given visual prompt.
5. Theme and Genre:
The genre is open-ended and can range from comedy, drama, thriller, fantasy, or any mix the participant prefers.

Judging Criteria: Scripts will be judged based on the following criteria:
1. Creativity (30%): Originality in interpreting the visual prompt and creativity in crafting the plot.
2. Character Development (20%): How well-defined and interesting the characters are.
3. Dialogue (20%): Naturalness and effectiveness of the dialogue in conveying the story and characters.
4. Plot Structure (20%): A cohesive narrative with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
5. Adherence to Prompt (10%): How closely the script ties into and reflects the given visual prompt.
Rules for Content:
Plagiarism or copying from known sources will result in immediate disqualification.
Scripts must be appropriate for general audiences. Offensive, vulgar, or politically/religiously sensitive content will not be accepted.
Tools and Materials:
1. Participants will be provided with basic writing tools such as paper, pens, or staplers.
2. No internet access or external research is permitted during the challenge.
Disqualification:
Any participant found cheating (using external resources or help) will be disqualified.
Scripts that do not adhere to the rules or go against the spirit of the competition may also lead to disqualification.
Organizers’ Decision:
1. The organizers’ and judges’ decisions are final in all matters related to the competition.
2. Any disputes or clarifications will be resolved at the sole discretion of the event committee.
