The Intra-IUB Departmental Futsal Tournament is set to return for its second season, with the objective of promoting inter-departmental engagement, sportsmanship, and student-alumni collaboration. This event will provide a competitive platform for male and female students to represent their departments in a spirited futsal tournament.
๐. ๐๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง
Game Format: 5-a-side
Squad Size: 8 players + 1 Team Advisor
Team Advisor must be a full-time faculty member from the respective department.
Total Teams: 24 Departmental Teams (Male), 6 Female Teams (6 Schools)
Some departments may have more than 1 team.*
Venue: IUB Sports Complex
Tournament timing: 5 pm - 10 pm, June 22 - 29

๐๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ:
The Cup Segment is the main event of the tournament, featuring a competitive format where all 24 departmental teams compete in a group stage followed by knockout rounds (Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final). Teams advance based on group standings, culminating in a high-stakes final match to crown the ultimate champion.
๐๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ:
Designed to keep the tournament inclusive, the Plate Segment allows the 8 teams that finish third in their respective groups (or are knocked out early) to continue competing. Instead of elimination, these teams enter a separate bracket, ensuring more gameplay opportunities and a chance to win the Plate Trophy.

Exclusive to IUBโs six schools, the female segment requires each school to field one team, with all players strictly from their respective school. This segment promotes inter-school camaraderie and provides a dedicated platform for female athletes to showcase their talent in a 5-a-side format.

* Players must be currently enrolled in the respective department and have declared a major in the respective department.
Maximum 1 alumnus per team (must be from the same department).
* Cross-departmental representation is not allowed.
* The faculty advisor of the team must approve the final departmental team.
* Assuming there will be 20 departmental teams, the additional team from any department will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
* There will be no player auction in this tournament.
* The team name must include the IUB and department name (e.g., "IUB English" represents DEML, where the team name can be "IUB English Legends").

* Each school will field one team, with all players required to be from their respective school.
* If respective schools canโt form a female squad, schools with majority female player representation will have more than one team. (e.g. SBE might have more than one female team)
* The female team faculty advisor has to be from any department of the respective school.

1. Online Registration
* Complete the Google Form (link will be provided)
* Team name, department, faculty advisor details.
* Player names, student IDs, and alumni information (if applicable).
* Submit the required documents given on the form.
2. Physical Registration
* Submit hard copies of the form at the registration booth (Ground Floor Activity Area; guidelines will be provided to department heads) by the deadline.
* Signed injury consent form.
* Submit the required documents.
* Entry fee: ๐๐๐ ๐,๐๐๐ (paid during submission).
* Submission by team captain or registered member.

* The jersey designs will be provided by IUBFC.
* Jersey color will be determined through a lottery system that will be implemented during the registration process.

* Each group will have 3 teams (e.g., A1, A2, A3) and play round-robin matches.
๐. ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:
Match Duration-
Group Stage: 10 minutes (2 halves of 5 minutes each)
Round of 16: 12 minutes (2 halves of 6 minutes each)
Quarterfinal: 14 minutes (2 halves of 7 minutes each)
Semi Final: 16 minutes (2 halves of 8 minutes each)
Final: 20 minutes (2 halves of 10 minutes each)
Team Presence & Minimum Players-
* Teams must report at least 20 minutes before the scheduled match.
* A minimum of five players are required to start the game. Failure to field a minimum team will result in a walkover.
If a team receives a win by walkover, the match score will be recorded as 2-0 in their favor.
Match Initiation-
*A coin toss will be conducted before each match to decide
Ball possession & Direction of play
Substitutions-
* Rolling substitutions are allowed throughout the game.
* Substituted players may only enter the field upon recognition and approval from the referee.
Referee Decisions-
*All decisions made by the referee are final and binding.
Tournament Progression-
* The tournament will follow a Group Stage followed by Knockout Rounds (Ro16 โ QF โ SF โ Final).
Points System (Group Stage)-
Win: 3 Points
Draw: 1 Point
Loss: 0 Points
Tiebreaker Protocols-
* Round of 16: If tied at full-time, the winner will be decided by penalty shootout.
* Quarterfinals, Semifinals & Final:
If tied, extra time will be played.
If still tied, the match will be decided by penalties.
Disciplinary Measures-
* Accumulation of two yellow cards or receiving a red card will lead to suspension from the current match (if red carded during play), and suspension from the next scheduled match.
* Any misconduct toward referees will result in a straight red card and a fine of BDT 500.
Footwear-
* Proper sports footwear (turf/indoor shoes) is mandatory.
* Barefoot or spiked shoes are strictly prohibited.
Eligibility -
* Only current IUB students and approved alumni (max 1 per team) are eligible.
* External or non-IUB players are strictly prohibited.
* A player may register for only one team.
Registration & Fees -
* Teams will not be allowed to participate without completing registration and submitting the entry fees.
Code of Conduct -
* Smoking is strictly prohibited within the IUB Sports Complex or surrounding area.
* Respect, discipline, and sportsmanship are expected from all participants and team staff.
* An IUB student ID card is mandatory for entry. All players and visitors must bring their ID card
