Dr. Pete Larson is an actual PhD Dr of epidemiology who found himself studying snakes in Kenya for several years, where he discovered and fell in love with the eight stringed lyre of the Luo people who live along the shores of Lake Victoria. When he returned to the US, he drafted his musician friends into his band, who now add freakout psych guitar, mid east percussion and deep synthesizer sounds to a repertoire of East African folk sounds. We promise it will be nothing like anything you've heard before.
Dr. Pete Larson and his Cytotoxic Nyatiti Band have released three LPs in the past two years on Larson's own Dagoretti Records imprint, a label devoted to releasing obscure and interesting music from Africa, the US and the world.

This will be a live musical performance in my barn. There is space on the south side of the barn for anyone who would prefer to dance and/or watch the show outdoors.
This is a ticketed event; if 60 are sold, there will be no walkups. Parking is via the driveway for Ruhlig's Country Market, one west of mine; watch for the parking czar for directions. Carpooling is encouraged. Gate will open at 7:30pm, music will start at 8:00pm. Please no tobacco products or animals. BYOB and a lawn or stadium chair.
Bathroom is inside my house; please remove your shoes to use it.
A contribution of $5 per car for parking will be requested at the show. Additional contributions for barn roof work appreciated.
