An exhibition of painting, prints, drawings, and sculpture from the Devonport Regional Gallery’s Permanent Collection. In these works, form becomes flexible. Figures twist, stretch, and fold into unfamiliar shapes, as though caught in the split-second before a dream dissolves.
These works demonstrate the depth and diversity of the DRG collection, highlighting artists who experiment with movement, distortion, and the imaginative potential of form. Together, they reveal how the collection captures shifting approaches to abstraction, expression, and the fluid boundaries between the real and the dreamlike.
Artists are Arthur Boyd, Barbara Hanrahan, Colin Vercoe, Dale Burke, Dale Richards, Danuta Michalska, Felix Tuszynski, Gerald Makin, Guy Noden, John Olsen, Jude Williams, Kit Hiller, Neil Malone, Peter Sugden, Veronica Steane, Warren Langley
