Join us for a soul-nourishing day of yoga, meditation, and mindful connection set within the breathtaking University of Alberta Botanical Gardens. As summer’s glow softens into the quiet focus of fall, this retreat offers a sacred pause—a chance to reflect, realign, and replenish.
Surrounded by vibrant blooms, shimmering water features, and the gentle song of the trees, you’ll flow through practices that awaken the body, soothe the mind, and open the heart. Together, we’ll move, breathe, and rest in rhythm with the natural world, returning home renewed and ready for the season ahead.
Retreat Schedule & Highlights
Morning Gathering
Location: Alpine Garden or Pine Pavilion
Warm welcome & teacher introductions
Energizing 75-minute yoga session to awaken the body
Breakfast break: Tea & light snacks provided (or bring your own)
Nature Connection & Forest Bathing
Explore the connection between classical yoga and nature
Introduction to Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing) and its benefits for mind, body, and spirit
Midday Mindfulness Explorations
Participants rotate between:
Water Sound Meditation — soothe your mind with natural harmonies in a secret garden
Walking Meditation — cultivate presence through mindful steps along lush pathways
Lunch Break & Afternoon Renewal
Order lunch at the Garden Cafe or bring your own picnic lunch to nourish and energize
Group session: Sound Medicine: Mantra Singing — open your heart with sacred sound vibrations and community connection
Closing Practice
Gentle Flow & Yin Yoga to relax and restore
Deep Yoga Nidra guided relaxation with live sound bath for profound renewal
What to bring:
Please dress for the weather and bring a yoga mat, a cushion, and a blanket for the sound bath to ensure your comfort as you relax and to fully benefit from the experience. We recommend bringing extra snacks to keep your energy stable throughout the day. You can either bring a picnic lunch or order at the Garden Cafe.
Bug spray and a water bottle are recommended and there are waterfill stations in the Lower Talar by the washrooms. Once you are in the session space, please turn off your cell phone so you can enjoy tuning into the present moment surrounded by nature.
