This CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS is open to all Artists of all mediums.
False Idol: An Idol is an object of extreme devotion and worship. It also represents an idealized concept. To be false implies deception.
The exhibition “False Idols” aims to expose the difference between true and false idols and how we are affected by them. Artists are asked to reflect on the concept of idolatry and consider its potential to fool and manipulate.
The artists and their pieces chosen for this exhibition will work in conjunction with each other to unveil the shroud of fanaticism that lurks beneath the worship of false idols.
In partnership with Mosaic Productions, this exhibition will take place at Office Space Gallery and will run from Jan. 10, 2026, through Feb. 14, 2026.
All submissions must be of original design and personal execution. Any artistic medium, including performance and literary works.
SUBMISSIONS: Open through Dec. 31, 2025. Art must be received by Jan. 4, 2026.
Please follow the submission guidelines set out below.
• Painting/Illustrations/Photos: Submit no more than one (1) Digital photo/scan of each piece.
• Sculpture & Multi-Dimensional Art: Submit no more than three (3) digital photos per piece.
• Film/Video: 3 stills and a brief description. Do Not email Mpegs or video files. (Also see CD/DVD instructions below). You may email a hosted link to a video file.
• Performance Art and Installations: Email proposal, 100 words or less. (Also see CD/DVD instructions below).
How the work is judged.
Submissions for FALSE IDOLS can take any form and be as serious, edgy or satirical as the artist’s chosen subject permits.
The art can be in any medium and range in style from the classic/academic to the most abstract of expression. Final decision regarding submissions is based the whether the work is appropriate to the exhibition’s theme.
The organizers/curators of FALSE IDOLS will jury this exhibit.
