Ft. Des Moines Museum Historical Marker Unveiling

Join us, the Fort Des Moines Museum & Education Center, State
Historical Society of Iowa, Grid North Historical Productions,
and our fraternal partners (Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, and Phi Beta Sigma) as we unveil the official state historic marker honoring the courageous African American men and pioneering women who trained at Fort Des Moines—the only site for Black officer training in WWI and the first for WAAC officers in WWII. Their service changed the course of history.
