Maine Township Agency Day

Maine Township's 42nd annual Agency Day will feature a workshop entitled The Art of Collaboration presented by Raghu Sundara. This event provides a great opportunity for local organizations to network and exchange information about services in the Maine Township community and is open to employees from social service agencies, non-profits, schools, churches, hospitals, and units of government. Registration deadline is April 25.

In part one of this presentation, we will discuss ways of building strong relationships and having powerful conversations at networking events and beyond. We'll share personal stories, delve into motivations for networking, and discuss effective strategies to expand your network, engage meaningfully, and maintain connections for long-term success.

In part two, we will explore the role of power partners in enhancing social services providers' success and expanding community impact through an abundance mindset. Learn to identify potential allies, collaborate with others in the field, and leverage your organization's purpose to create extraordinary outcomes for those you serve.

Raghu Sundara is a dedicated business professional with a Business Degree from Purdue University and a wealth of experience in networking and community engagement. He serves as a board member of the Giving Group and the Schaumburg Business Association, and previously served on the board of the Childhood Leukemia Warriors Foundation. Additionally, he is an active member of the Rotary Club of Schaumburg A.M.

Raghu's journey in business networking began during his management role in the insurance industry, where he engaged with over 15 chambers of commerce. After nearly 20 years in corporate America, he took a bold step and opened his own insurance agency in 2018. Recognizing a trend in networking—where many focused on immediate referrals rather than building lasting relationships—Raghu adopted a marathon mindset toward networking. He believes that true connections take time and that one should not expect instant returns on investments in relationships.

His experiences taught him the importance of being a problem solver for others, regardless of professional boundaries. Aspiring to be known as a connector who happens to own an insurance agency, Raghu began organizing 20 meet-ups each month for business owners in his local community, ultimately connecting with over 1,000 individuals in just four years.

This extensive interaction inspired him to establish a networking business called Always Be Connecting, focused on fostering a giving mindset and encouraging collaboration among business owners. By emphasizing the value of supporting one another and sharing resources, Always Be Connecting aims to help entrepreneurs expand their networks in a more organic and sustainable manner, laying the groundwork for long-term relationships and mutual growth.

To help increase awareness of local community resources, the first ten agencies to respond will have 2-3 minutes each to share their mission and services with those in attendance during the morning program. Everyone is encouraged to bring brochures, flyers, and business cards to display on our information tables and to use for networking purposes.

$35/person - includes 2.0 CEUs for social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and nurses. A nominal fee will be added to all orders placed with a credit card.
