Free Range Music & BBQ Festival features central Iowa’s top BBQ restaurants, local craft beer and cider, and a full day of live Americana music including headline performances by nationally touring acts Arkansauce and Cole Chaney. Happening on the lawn at Jasper Winery, the festival is family-friendly and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for outside seating. Admission includes BBQ samples, live music, kid’s activities, and more.
Info: Arkansauce calls forth melodies of the Ozark Mountains' rolling hills and raging rivers with their distinct blend of Newgrass. This progressive string quartet features Tom Andersen on bass, guitarist Zac Archuleta, Ethan Bush on mandolin, and Adams Collins on banjo. Their music features improvisational string leads matched with complex melodies, intriguing rhythms, and deep thumping bass grooves. Each member sings lead and harmony parts as well as contributes to the lyrics, which offer authentic, intelligent songwriting with hard-hitting hooks.
Info: Hailing from Catlettsburg, KY, Cole Chaney has emerged as a dynamic force in the world of country music, fueled by his deep-rooted love for his Kentucky roots and the raw passion of rock and roll. Cole’s music serves as anthems for the working man, weaving tales of his own experiences and those around him. His debut album Mercy has garnered widespread acclaim, with music that captivates audiences with his soulful voice and electrifying stage presence.
Info: Cousin Curtiss brings to the stage a fiery dynamic rarely seen by a solo act and now partnered up with the equally enigmatic and soulfully driven electric guitar prowess of Harrison B. These two road warriors are on a mission to electrify audiences everywhere with their two-man full-band sound. Think, "blues at bluegrass speeds." Imagine, "rock americana with a soulful drip." Experience rapid fire acoustic guitar, incendiary harmonica, fiercely energized solos, all driven by a thunderous kick drum.
Info: Alex Williams is a small-town Midwestern kid who’s now amassed more than 5 million global streams and toured North America and beyond. From Pendleton, Indiana, he is known for his gritty, traditional outlaw country sound. Influenced by legends like Waylon and Willie, he released his debut album, Better Than Myself in 2017. His 2022 follow-up album Waging Peace marks a new chapter of musical growth, but is still rooted in tradition and a bold, against-the-grain swagger.
Info: Jordan Beem is a country artist out of Des Moines and was recently voted the 2024 IMA Country Music Artist of the Year. His style is everything from country music to classic rock and modern pop. The first single he released entitled “Iowa Skies” was only the start to his career. He has since released more music including “That’s Just Livin’ in the USA” which has seen success on country radio in the Midwest.
