As the owner of The Slow Down Coffee Co, she takes great pride in serving up delicious coffee and providing a welcoming space for our community.

In addition to her role as a coffee shop owner, she is also a successful commercial real estate broker specializing in helping business owners find the perfect location for their operations.

Her entrepreneurial spirit fuels not only successful ventures but also a commitment to fostering connections within our neighborhoods. Through partnerships, events, and shared goals, she believes we can cultivate a thriving ecosystem that benefits everyone in our community.

Owners Drew and Kara have lived in the Highland Park neighborhood of Des Moines since 2013. They opened a coffee shop to create a space for conversation, community, and neighbors helping neighbors, and they are excited to be a part of Highland Park’s reinvigoration. The products are local, like they are, to support the community’s growth.
