The regular meeting for children and young people in Derby City, at Hannah Fields Community Garden, Normanton Lane, Littleover.
The meeting is an opportunity for families to come together, emphasising peer relationships, friendships and connections between children, young people and their families.
We have spaces for gathering and conversation, a fabulous cafe space, activities for younger children and a separate space in the cabin for anyone wanting to play board games, read or just chill alone. We are gathering games for older participants. Please feel free to bring your own or any donations for the group's use.
1. There is no age restriction to this event, it is for all autistic children and young people. Our only stipulation is that everyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who can always respond appropriately to their needs.
2. This is a community garden, as in, it's outside. There is cover, but please dress for being outside and potential changes in the weather.
3. There is plenty of free parking outside the garden, but it is in a residential area, so awareness of driveways would be great.
4. Hannah Fields is on a bus route from Derby Bus Station, the 5/5a.
5. There are wide paths with a reasonable solid surface if anyone needs to bring a buggy or other mobility aid.
6. There is no 'supervision' beyond that of us parents. Ange and Matt at HF have welcomed us but have emphasised that people need to be aware of their kids and what they are doing. I'm sure we are probably all very aware of that more than most. 🙂
7. Please feel free to share as widely as you can.
Looking forward to seeing you all!
