Learn to use a Knitting Machine

Begin your journey to create your own woollen clothing.

As part of our textile project Field to Fashion, join knitwear designer and NTU lecturer Dr Jane Taylor, who will give you an in-depth introduction to the knitting machine, with a focus on knitting with punch cards to create Fair-isle and textured knits. Once you have completed the course you will understand stitch tensions and suitable yarn weights, be able to cast-on create stripes and confidently move between plain and patterned knitting. You will begin your journey to making woollen clothing, at speed!
