Auditions - Present Laughter by Noel Coward

ALL WELCOME!

Auditions for our October production of Present Laughter by Noël Coward will take place on Saturday 17th May from 2:30pm, Tuesday 20th May from 7:30pm and Thursday 22nd May from 7:30pm. All at Shakespeare House on Kedleston Road.

Audition pieces will be provided at the auditions and the house will be open an hour before to allow time to look over them. Feel free to prepare your own audition pieces from the play, however.

At the centre of his own universe in the late 1930s sits matinee idol Garry Essendine: suave; hedonistic and too old, says his wife, to be having numerous affairs. His line in harmless, infatuated debutantes is largely tolerated but playing closer to home is not. Just before he escapes on tour to Africa the full extent of his misdemeanours is discovered and all hell breaks loose.
