About the event

Synesthesia- Take a Twisted Sensory Trip
Prepare for departure! We are LuneAseas, a grassroots performance company. We are happy to present Rita Corey’s Synesthesia, a one of-a-kind experience that invites the audience to board a flight of the imagination. Come with us as we explore the shifting landscapes of a bipolar mind through movement, music and interactive art.

Synesthesia was created by Rita Corey in partnership with WellPower and expanded with input from participants in LuneAseas’ Troupe Therapy workshops. Lived experience is at the heart of this journey. The production charts a course through mania, depression, paranoia and recovery. It navigates the turbulence of stigma as it seeks the horizon of hope and self acceptance. Along the way passengers — audience members, that is — will encounter contemporary ballet dancers , breakers from Experiments in Rhythm and Subliminal Motion featuring the music of Spirit of Grace.

Your terminal for this voyage is Ballyhoo Table and Stage, Denver’s newest immersive venue and gathering space. From the moment you check in you’ll be guided through surreal soundscapes and vivid performances, all designed to awaken the senses!

Audiences rave:

“Such an incredible and powerful experience.”

“My eyes are open and I learned so much about mental illness and what it’s like to live with it.”

“I was so moved—we need more art like this.”
