DETAILS: Help make an animal’s day a little more exciting by volunteering to build enrichment at Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance! Enrichment is a vital part of animal care—it’s all about crafting creative items that encourage animals to explore, play, and engage their senses. Volunteers might construct anything from papier-mâché objects to colorful, piñata-style creations that are later filled with treats or scented surprises by our animal care team.

Past projects have included a papier-mâché car to celebrate a gorilla’s birthday and hanging toys that challenge big cats to leap and grab. Whether you’re handy with scissors or just full of fun ideas, this opportunity offers a hands-on way to support animal well-being and bring some joy to the animals who call Denver Zoo home.
