Directed by Dr. Ernesto Mireles, War of the Flea tells the story of the historic fight to establish Chicano Studies at Michigan State University during the 1990s. The documentary highlights the student activists, the sacrifices they made, and the broader struggle for educational self-determination in the Xicano community. It is both a lesson in grassroots organizing and a reminder that the fight for cultural survival and academic justice continues today.
