Join us for a book discussion about Denver's citywide book, Stay True by Hua Tsu!

UPDATE: DPL is providing 9 free books (5 English, 4 Spanish) to our book club. They will be available August 9th for the first 9 people to come into the store and request one. Must be registered to attend the book club. No holds. One book per person. While supplies last. No exceptions.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Stay True by New Yorker staff writer Hua Hsu is a poignant coming-of-age memoir about friendship, identity, and loss. Set in the 1990s, it follows Hsu’s college years and his unlikely bond with a classmate whose worldview challenges his own. Through personal reflection and cultural critique, the book explores grief, memory, and what it means to truly know someone.

Widely acclaimed for its emotional depth and literary brilliance, Stay True was awarded the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Memoir or Autobiography and the 2022 National Book Critics Circle Award for Autobiography.

ABOUT ONE BOOK ONE DENVER

One Book One Denver (OBOD) is a citywide reading initiative that brings people together through the power of a shared story. By reading the same book, we can connect, start conversations, and build community across Denver.

ACCESIBILITY

Parking: Metered street parking is available (parallel parking) on Market St. Paid lots are available within a few blocks. The closest one is on 21st and Market St.

Entrance Access: Our front door is at street level and manually operated, accessible for wheelchairs and mobility aids. The rest of the block has sidewalks raised by five steps; however, the bike lane offers a step-free route down the block with minimal car traffic.

Restrooms: All-gender restrooms. Just like at home.

Communication: Staff on site speak English. We welcome communication via translation apps (Google Translate is available). While we do not use ASL, we’re happy to communicate through apps or other tools that work for you.

Alcohol Policy: No alcohol will be served or permitted at this event.

Masks: Masks are encouraged and supplied.
