About this Event

INVITATION

Something happens—or doesn’t—, and a fracture forms. Cracks begin to spread. They spread through our sense of self, our ability to love others, and our hope. Bitterness, shame, grief, burden on heavy burden, addiction, worry that eats away at joy: all threaten to break us. We fill in the gaps with distractions and self-help, but those wear out. The cracks are still there, often accompanied by a question. Can we ever be whole again? Everyone desperately needs to be loved and healed by the living God.

Healing is a journey, and it is not a journey we take alone.

We worship the God of hope. Where the world funnels us into isolation, Jesus offers us restoration and belonging. Where evil picks at our wounds, the Spirit comforts us and reminds us of truth. The One who healed the bleeding woman and raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead is able to do so much more than we ask or imagine. It is our Lord who leads us, loves us, forgives us, and sustains us.

Healing journeys begin in many places. You may be already on your way, or you may be catching the first glimpses of the path ahead. You may wonder where the path will lead. Jesus invites us to come and see.

SCRIPTURE

Zephaniah 3:14-17, 20

14 Sing, O daughter of Zion!

Shout, O Israel!

Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,

O daughter of Jerusalem!

15 The Lord has taken away your judgments,

He has cast out your enemy.

The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst;

You shall see disaster no more.

16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:

“Do not fear;

Zion, let not your hands be weak.

17 The Lord your God in your midst,

The Mighty One, will save;

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

He will quiet you with His love,

He will rejoice over you with singing.”

20 At that time I will bring you back,

Even at the time I gather you;

For I will give you fame and praise

Among all the peoples of the earth,

When I return your captives before your eyes,”

Says the Lord.

TESTIMONIES FROM PREVIOUS HEALING JOURNEY EVENTS

Most of us are too timid to pray for the healing we need or not sure how to ask or where to start. At every Healing Journey, I've been moved to pray boldly and have seen healing in my own life and in the lives of others - from folks who were finally able to receive the healing of forgiveness, to bodily healing of physical afflictions and disorders, to healing of wounds of deep loss and sorrow - but what I've mostly seen is healing of prayer lives, where those who were unable to pray before found themselves coming before the Father, companioned on all sides by loving saints interceding on their behalf. These gatherings have been a witness both to the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of the Church, a truly holy time and place of worship and prayer that ripples out in lasting healing for those who enter in
-L.E.

I was invited to Healing Journey following the tragic and unexpected loss of a loved one. Through the powerful prayers of the ministers at Healing Journey, I was drawn into the love, peace, and comfort of Jesus. Though grief and pain were my companions for quite a long time afterwards, the Lord’s promises and abiding love, those the prayers lifted up, carried me through that difficult journey.
-L.R.

I didn't know what to expect, not having participated in HJ before, and wondering if prayer gatherings were more for women than men, but I came away having spent time with Jesus, and strengthened in my faith. There was nothing at the front of my mind to pray about, (or maybe there was so much, I couldn't focus on any one issue), and so I received silent soaking prayers from the dear saints who offered them. I remember particularly the shaking hands of someone who prayed for me, and how they communicated that God saw me. There wasn't a dramatic change or healing, but I did experience sitting and resting with Jesus.

Throughout my years of attending Healing Journey, I have been in different spaces for what healing was needed in my life. One of the years, my son was battling cancer and had treatments scheduled for the day before healing journey. Coming to the weekend, I was distracted and worried about the different procedures and hospital visits we were trying to navigate. Once we started to pray and worship, the overwhelming peace from God that surpasses all understanding hit me like a wave. It is a time that I can now tangibly point back to that God met me and comforted me in my sorrow. The physical healing did not come in the exact way or timing we hoped for (he is in remission from his cancer though!), but I look back at that weekend as a place to come back to in my own wilderness journey. It was a time that he reminded me that he is in control and that I can trust in his timing for healing.-B.K.

Session One: Why Your Identity Matters
Host: Billy Waters

Info: One of the key tasks for our healing journey and discipleship to Jesus is discovering our identity. St. Teresa of Avilia said, “Almost all problems in the spiritual life center from lack of self knowledge.” Knowing who we are and who God made us to become is a wondrous realization for every believer. In this talk, we will learn who we are designed to become and the invitation to experience that freedom now.

Session Three: How Does God Really Feel About Me?
Host: Drew Boa

Info: In the middle of my sin, how does God really feel about me? Is he distant or disappointed? Is he delighted? Does he merely tolerate me, or does he genuinely desire me exactly as I am? Come receive the good news of how the Father really feels about us, shown by Jesus and experienced through the Holy Spirit.

Session Four: Freedom Through Forgiveness
Host: Christy Gudim

Info: With no obvious trauma in my background, I was stuck and painfully spiraling downward in my early thirties as I sought to switch careers and move across the world. My life was completely turned around as the Lord walked me through beautiful healing of my heart and memories through a process of forgiveness that was specific and released my heart from pain that was impacting my choices and coloring my perspective until I forgave. I didn’t even know what and who I needed to forgive until others graciously walked me through this process of forgiveness that I will be sharing today. This process can apply to anyone, again and again. I will demonstrate how we all can apply this process to our own journeys as well as help walk others through this healing process of forgiveness.

Session Five: Disrupting Anxiety: The Power of Jesus's Invitation
Host: Dr. Amber Dillon

Info: Anxiety is not an uncommon experience for many people in our society, including those within the Church. It’s so pervasive that online content is created that accepts it as normal, something we have to live with as the way things are. Yet there is an invitation from Jesus to come and see who he is and what he has accomplished on the cross that disrupts this idea and reframes our reality. The words of Jesus quiet our anxious minds and allow us to experience the rest he promises as his followers. I invite you to journey with me alongside Jesus’s disciples to hear this invitation and consider a life where we, as the people are God, are defined by our trust in the Son of God.

🕑: 01:15 PM - 01:45 PM
Prayer Ministry

🕑: 01:45 PM - 02:15 PM
Session Six: The Authority of the Kingdom of God Against Spiritual Warfare
Host: Vic Black

Info: In this subject of the believer's authority in Christ, we will explore biblical and practical ways to stand and minister in the full power that God wraps us in as sons and daughters of the Most High God. When Jesus sent His disciples out two by two to preach the Kingdom of God, He said, "I give you authority to...heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give." Jesus has extended to us His authority for doing the necessary work in the unseen realm. We often leave this supernatural privilege and responsibility aside while attempting to make headway in advancing God's Kingdom on earth. Together we will learn to embrace and exercise our rightful authority for the glory of God and for the good of people
