Have you ever stumbled upon animal bones while exploring nature and wondered “what could I make out of these?” “Is it ethical to take bones from the environment?” “What animal did these belong to and what story do they tell?”
If the answer is yes, then this FREE workshop is for you!
Join us on November 22, 2025 | 1-4PM at Spring Creek Prairie and learn about an array of topics from death and decay, ethics of bone collecting, and the basics of animal bone identification.
Participants will also get a crash course in the owls of Nebraska, dissect an owl pellet for bones, and create some bonecrafts to take home!
Supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to BYOB (Bring Your Own Bones)
*Please refrain from bringing bones from birds of prey, songbirds, or threatened/endangered species.
**Due to limited supplies, registration is required to attend. Participants must be 16 or older, minors (16-17) will need to be accompanied by an adult.
